Sumsub announced on 2 September 2026 the launch of Fraud Prevention Starter Kit, described as ready-made fraud risk decisioning for companies growing faster than their fraud controls. The company said the kit returns a single risk level — low, medium or high — with approve, step-up, review or block actions, without requiring a firm to build a fraud function from scratch.

According to Sumsub’s internal data, the global identity fraud rate eased from 2.6% to 2.2% over the prior year while sophisticated attacks that combine several techniques within a single verification attempt rose 180%. The company said know-your-customer checks confirm who someone is, but identity alone does not establish whether an applicant is safe to trust.

Sumsub said the kit collects and enriches onboarding signals including email and digital footprint, phone risk, IP and network indicators, device intelligence, repeated identifiers and fraud blocklists. Those signals are evaluated through a pre-built risk matrix weighing individual factors, cross-consistency checks, device and network intelligence, applicant connections and known fraud patterns.

Chief product officer Andrew Novoselsky said fraud often arrives with a new market or growth quarter before anyone has been hired to deal with it, and that the kit is meant to give teams a working fraud decision on day one. Sumsub said the product was entering a closed launch with early-access applications open; it did not name launch customers or publish independent efficacy benchmarks.
