About

Arize is a San Francisco-based AI observability and evaluation company that launched in 2020 and became part of Dynatrace in October 2026. Its tools let AI engineering teams trace, test and monitor machine-learning models, LLM applications and AI agents from development through production. Arize AX is the enterprise platform and Arize Phoenix the open-source project; users include Booking.com, Condé Nast, Duolingo, PepsiCo and Uber. Co-founders Jason Lopatecki and Aparna Dhinakaran joined Dynatrace with the team.

How they use AI

Arize AX traces how AI agents and applications behave, measures quality with evaluations, including LLM-as-a-judge and session-level evals that run at scale, and monitors production performance so teams can test prompts and harnesses before release and keep improving prompts, models and workflows. LG Uplus uses AX evaluation to improve its customer-service agents. Phoenix provides the same tracing and evaluation as open source, and Dynatrace plans to connect Arize's development-time evaluation with its production observability platform.
