Airbyte raised US$150 million in Series B funding at a US$1.5 billion valuation, CEO Michel Tricot wrote in a company blog dated 20 December 2021.
The round was led by Altimeter Capital and Coatue, with Thrive Capital, Salesforce Ventures, Benchmark, Accel and SV Angel participating. Use-of-proceeds framing covered growing the team and community, long-tail connectivity, multi-cloud and multi-region deployments, streaming and reverse-ETL, and reliability tooling for open-source data movement. Tricot framed the raise as fuel to make open-source and cloud data movement a standard for companies with fragmented data assets, rather than a finished milestone.
