Workday said Decision Intelligence is now available across its portfolio for HR and finance teams as a single governed AI experience over people, financial and planning data already in Workday, in a release dated 13 October 2026.

The company said the pattern first helped FP&A teams in Adaptive from Workday move from analysis to action, and that Decision Intelligence for Adaptive continues to be available to Adaptive customers alongside the new HCM and Financial Management paths. Named customer James Choi, global head of finance transformation and procurement at Unity Technologies, said: "Decision Intelligence is one of the most meaningful advances we've seen in Workday. It is already helping us close the gap between analysis and execution, from quickly investigating revenue variances to streamlining the monthly post-close outlook deck we build for our CFO."

Workday cited HR examples such as evaluating a 50-hire plan against skills, capacity and cost, and finance examples that investigate margin pressure then route recommendations through existing controls with an assumption and approval audit trail. Ben Pierce, general manager of Adaptive from Workday, said: "Leaders are under pressure to make more complex decisions in less time, but speed only matters if teams can understand the full impact of the path they choose. With Workday Decision Intelligence, HR and finance teams can evaluate workforce and financial trade-offs together, then move approved actions forward through the data, permissions, and business processes that already run the enterprise."

Customer quotes and capability claims are vendor assertions; AI-360 has not independently verified Unity's deployment scope.
