BioCatch has agreed to be acquired by Visa for US$2.4 billion in cash, according to Visa's 3 August 2026 announcement. The behavioural biometrics and device-intelligence firm will sit inside Visa's fraud and scam-prevention portfolio once the deal closes.

BioCatch's technology scores behavioural and device signals to help banks detect account takeover, authorised push-payment scams and session anomalies. Visa said: "BioCatch will help our clients stop fraud before it reaches the point of payment. This acquisition is part of our strategy to help clients prevent cyber threats upstream, building trust into every transaction.." The transaction remains subject to regulatory approval, with close expected by the end of Visa's fiscal second quarter of 2027.

Earlier 2025 company materials cited more than 400 employees and growing annual recurring revenue — BioCatch figures, not Visa's. Public headcount bands in the mid-hundreds are consistent with that messaging.

For banks already using Visa rails, owning BioCatch would give the network a deeper behavioural layer before payments complete — if regulators clear the path.

Figures and customer claims in this piece are those stated by the company or acquirer in the cited materials.
