UOB and Accenture signed a three-year memorandum of understanding in Singapore on 30 April 2025 to accelerate the bank's use of generative and agentic AI — Accenture's first such AI-focused collaboration with a Singapore bank, according to the announcement.
Under the MoU, UOB will draw on Accenture AI assets including AI Refinery to apply GenAI across business processes, productivity, risk management and personalised customer experience at scale. Bank staff will also gain access to Accenture LearnVantage enablement programmes aimed at deploying advanced technology, particularly for customer engagement.
Wee Ee Cheong, deputy chairman and chief executive of UOB, said: "Our goal is to leverage AI solutions to transform our operations, enhance productivity, and deliver personalised customer experiences with scale and speed across our extensive network in ASEAN."
Julie Sweet, chair and chief executive of Accenture, said the partnership would help UOB scale generative and agentic AI while building advanced technology skills among its people. UOB is headquartered in Singapore, with banking subsidiaries across ASEAN and more than 470 branches and offices in 19 markets, the bank said.
