Shift Technology announced on 5 March 2026 a five-year renewal of its strategic partnership agreement with AXA. The companies said their collaboration now spans 15 countries across Europe, Asia and Latin America, and has run since 2016. Joint work covers AI-driven decisioning for claims, fraud detection and underwriting; the release cites detection of organised and opportunistic fraud and faster handling of legitimate claims.
The renewal is framed alongside AXA’s Unlock the Future strategic plan for 2024–2026, which emphasises digital transformation and scaling innovation. Shift said it received AXA’s Delivering @ Scale Supplier Award in 2025 for scaling AI innovation across markets.
Jeremy Jawish, chief executive and co-founder of Shift, said AXA had treated AI as a core capability rather than a side initiative, and that the firms were proving how explainable, insurance-specialised AI can create lasting value across a group. Claudio Gienal, chief transformation officer at AXA European Markets, said collaboration with Shift had already delivered tangible results in fraud detection, claims efficiency and customer experience. Andreas Schertzinger, AXA Group chief data, AI and innovation officer, said renewing the partnership affirmed confidence in Shift’s ability to deliver business value and stressed embedding responsible AI as partners scale solutions.
