Salesforce has announced, in a company press release, that Agentforce, its AI agent platform, is now authorized at Impact Level 5 (IL5) for use across the Department of War via its Missionforce National Security platform, alongside a separate deployment for the U.S. Army Human Resources Command (HRC).

Salesforce said Army HRC becomes the first Department of War organization to deploy the newly IL5-authorized Agentforce Public Sector, using AI agents to provide round-the-clock support for the 9.2 million Soldiers, Veterans, civilian staff, and military families it serves. Salesforce said HRC processes more than 1,500 cases daily, and the agents will handle routine inquiries and case summarization while routing sensitive decisions to human specialists. Salesforce projected more than 55 million agent conversations per month at full scale, and said its underlying Digital Front Door platform, ahead of any Agentforce deployment, is projected to save $6 million annually through reduced manual processing and system consolidation.

Separately, Salesforce said the broader IL5 authorization brings its full Agentforce 360 portfolio, including Data 360 and Tableau Next, to Department of War logistics, recruiting, and command decision-making, hosted on AWS GovCloud. The company said the platform will also expand to the Intelligence Community using a "develop low, deploy high" model allowing work in unclassified environments before deployment to the Top Secret Network. Salesforce cited a Government Accountability Office finding that 74% of U.S. Air Force aircraft missed depot maintenance deadlines as rationale for the shift toward autonomous AI.
