Meta has launched Muse Image and previewed Muse Video, the first media generation models built by Meta Superintelligence Labs.
Muse Image works agentically rather than mapping prompts directly to pixels: it calls coding and search tools to sharpen accuracy, self-refines its own drafts, and improves as more test-time compute is applied. The self-refinement behaviour, Meta says, was not explicitly designed but emerged during reinforcement learning because it produced higher-scoring images. The model also integrates with Muse Spark for joint planning across tools.
Muse Image is live now in the Meta AI app, on meta.ai, on Instagram Stories in the US, and on WhatsApp in limited countries, with Facebook to follow.
Meta is also rolling out Content Seal, an invisible watermarking system for provenance verification, with video support planned.
