Kalipso has raised $3.2 million as it expands internationally and grows its team, the Barcelona-based regtech said on 25 June 2026. A French-language PR Newswire release followed on 26 June covering the same round.

The round was led by Varsity, with participation from Lanai, Kima Ventures, Vento, Plug and Play, and the EA Ventures Plug and Play EMEA Fund, Kalipso said. The company said it already works with institutions including Groupe Caisse des Dépôts and Alma.

Kalipso described a platform that analyses regulatory developments, identifies which obligations apply to each organisation, surfaces gaps in existing frameworks, and generates implementation-ready fixes with source traceability so recommendations link back to the underlying requirement. It said the platform centralises monitoring, remediation, ownership and audit workflows. Kalipso also said Regulatory Radar, its regulatory intelligence layer, tracks more than 100 sources across more than 40 jurisdictions and processes more than 3,000 updates daily, using agentic relevance matching to prioritise developments by business model and footprint.

Co-founder and chief operating officer Virginia Debernardi said compliance teams have stitched together disconnected tools for too long and need infrastructure that turns regulation into action, not another alert feed. Co-founder and chief executive Pierre Ferran said the hard part of compliance is implementation, and that Kalipso is built by people who have worked on both the legal and engineering sides. He previously held senior legal roles at Klarna and Philips and is also a software engineer; Debernardi previously served as general counsel at Productsup. Varsity board member and investor Didier Valet, former deputy chief executive of Société Générale, said he was convinced by founders who understand both law and engineering.

Kalipso said it covers major frameworks including DORA, MiCAR, PSD2, the AI Act, GDPR and MiFID II, is ISO 27001 certified, and stores data on European sovereign cloud infrastructure. It plans to expand its team in 2026 and deepen presence in the UK, France, Spain, Italy and Benelux.
