About
Hugging Face runs the largest open platform for AI models, datasets and applications. More than 18 million developers use it, and over 200,000 companies use it to find, test, adapt and deploy models. Clément Delangue, Julien Chaumond and Thomas Wolf founded it in 2016. Salesforce Ventures led its Series D in August 2023. In September 2026 NVIDIA agreed to buy the company for US$12.93bn. NVIDIA committed that the platform will stay open to all model builders, clouds and chips. For banks and insurers, the Team and Enterprise plans add access controls, data residency and audit logs to the shared model hub.
How they use AI
Hugging Face hosts more than 3 million models and 500,000 datasets, and its Transformers library gives developers access to pre-trained models. Organisations use Inference Providers and Inference Endpoints to run models, with billing and spending limits set at organisation level. Enterprise controls include single sign-on, a choice of storage region, audit logs, resource groups and central token management.
