Google has introduced Gemini 3, the latest generation of its multimodal AI model family, marking what the company describes as its most significant step toward advanced reasoning and agentic performance.

Two years after the launch of the original Gemini models, Google reports rapid adoption across its ecosystem: AI Overviews now reach two billion monthly users, the Gemini app exceeds 650 million monthly users, and more than 70%of Google Cloud customers engage with its AI services. With Gemini 3, Google aims to translate this scale into deeper enterprise utility.

Positioned as a major leap in multimodal intelligence, Gemini 3 is designed to interpret complex ideas, understand user intent with greater precision, and operate across long-context inputs across a one million-token context window. The model brings improved performance in text, vision, video, audio and code, supported by advances in spatial reasoning and multilingual comprehension.

According to Google, this generation offers state-of-the-art results on leading academic and AI capability benchmarks, including top scores on LMArena, Humanity’s Last Exam, GPQA Diamond and several multimodal assessments. Early testing indicates strengthened factual reliability and improved depth of response, reflecting an emphasis on reducing stylistic artefacts in favor of clearer reasoning.

Gemini 3 debuted simultaneously across Google’s consumer and enterprise products, including AI Mode in Search, the Gemini app, and developer platforms such as AI Studio, Vertex AI and the Gemini API. For the first time, Google deployed a flagship Gemini model into Search on day one, enabling new generative interfaces, interactive visualizations and on-the-fly simulations designed to help users interpret complex topics.

For developers and technical teams, Gemini 3 extends Google’s push into agentic coding. The model is tuned for richer interface generation, improved tool use and enhanced ability to execute multi-step tasks. It powers Google Antigravity, a new agent-first development environment where AI agents can plan, write and validate code autonomously across an integrated editor, terminal and browser. Google positions this as a shift from AI as an assistive prompt-based tool toward AI as an operational partner capable of managing higher-order development workflows.

Enterprise applications centre on planning, problem-solving and automation. Gemini 3 demonstrates more stable long-horizon behavior, exemplified by its performance on planning benchmarks that simulate sustained decision-making over extended timeframes. This is reflected in early use cases such as inbox triage, scheduling, and service booking, all managed through guided agentic workflows. Organisations will access these capabilities through Vertex AI and Gemini Enterprise, with tools designed to integrate Gemini 3 into existing systems, applications, and governance frameworks.

Google underscores that Gemini 3 has undergone its most extensive safety evaluation process to date, incorporating internal red-teaming, external expert assessments and independent reviews. The company cites progress in mitigating sycophancy, resisting prompt-injection attacks and improving defences relevant to cyber-security scenarios.

Gemini 3 Pro is available immediately, while the enhanced Gemini 3 Deep Think mode—designed for more strenuous reasoning tasks—will be released following further safety testing. Additional models within the Gemini 3 family are planned in the coming months as Google continues to expand its AI roadmap for enterprises, developers and consumers.
