Cognizant, a global IT services and consulting firm, has begun leveraging Anthropic’s Claude, a family of large language models (LLMs), to support both internal AI transformation and enterprise client adoption at scale.

Cognizant plans to deploy Claude models and agentic tooling across its platforms to help clients accelerate AI adoption, modernize workflows, and scale solutions from pilot programs to production. Internally, Cognizant will provide Claude access to up to 350,000 associates across corporate functions, engineering, and delivery teams, while using Claude Code to streamline coding, testing, documentation, and DevOps processes.

Cognizant is combining Claude’s LLM capabilities with its engineering platforms and industry frameworks to deliver measurable enterprise outcomes. The company intends to integrate Anthropic offerings—including Claude for Enterprise, Claude Code, the Model Context Protocol (MCP), and the Agent SDK—into software engineering and platform services, enabling clients to orchestrate multi-step workflows with human oversight while managing performance, risk, and cost.

The partnership will focus on accelerating software engineering productivity and modernizing legacy systems. Cognizant plans to use Claude and Claude Code with its Flowsource™ Platform to streamline coding, testing, documentation, and DevOps workflows. Meanwhile, Claude’s code understanding will be combined with Cognizant’s modernization frameworks to speed analysis and refactoring across large codebases.

Additionally, the collaboration will advance agentification and industry-specific solutions. Using Cognizant Neuro® AI Multi-Agent Orchestration and Anthropic’s Agent SDK, teams will design reusable, policy-driven multi-agent systems with human-in-the-loop oversight.

The partnership will also develop vertical solutions starting with Financial Services, embedding agentic workflows into regulated enterprise environments, while promoting responsible AI practices for safe deployment, monitoring, and operations at scale, aligned with enterprise governance and open standards such as MCP.

Ravi Kumar S, CEO of Cognizant, said: “Enterprises are moving beyond simple productivity gains toward a more connected, agentic future. By pairing Anthropic’s Claude models and agentic tooling with Cognizant’s suite of platforms and industry expertise, we will help clients build the foundations of an agentified enterprise where intelligent systems collaborate with people to accelerate modernization, engineering, and industry transformation. We are equally excited to apply Anthropic’s technology to help us drive these transformation goals internally at Cognizant.”

Paul Smith, Chief Commercial Officer at Anthropic, said: “The combination of frontier AI with deep domain expertise and implementation capabilities is what makes this partnership so exciting and will absolutely accelerate AI in the enterprise. Companies require trusted AI that combines cutting-edge performance with safety and reliability, which is why hundreds of thousands of businesses trust Claude. We’re demonstrating this at scale by rolling out Claude to up to 350,000 Cognizant employees and helping our joint clients do the same.”
