Alteryx is an Irvine, California company founded in 1997 that sells analytics automation software to business analysts and finance, tax and operations teams. Its Alteryx One platform, including the Designer desktop product and cloud services, lets non-programmers prepare and blend data, build repeatable workflows and run them at scale; customers ran more than 380 million automated workflows in 2025. More than 8,000 organisations use it, among them Siemens Energy, Bank of America and Papa Johns. Clearlake Capital Group and Insight Partners took the company private in March 2024.

How they use AI

Alteryx treats governed workflows as the business logic AI agents run on. Agent Studio packages trusted datasets and workflow logic into reusable agents inside Alteryx One, and the Alteryx MCP Server exposes them to Slack, Microsoft Teams, Claude and OpenAI. Ask Alteryx answers questions and helps build workflows in natural language, and Live Query works on data where it sits in platforms such as BigQuery. Papa Johns uses Alteryx workflows to give Google Gemini process context for finance answers.
