AlphaSense said on 11 June 2024 that it had agreed to acquire Tegus, a provider of expert research, private-company content and financial workflow tools used by investors and strategy teams.

The company valued Tegus at US$930 million in the announcement and said the combination would deepen its market-intelligence coverage for public and private companies.

The deal was accompanied by a funding round that lifted AlphaSense’s valuation to US$4 billion, including a US$650 million raise co-led by Viking Global Investors and other investors named in the release.

Tegus’s library was described as covering more than 35,000 public and private companies with investor-led expert interviews and supporting research workflows.

At announcement the transaction was expected to close in the third quarter of 2024; AlphaSense later reported completion of the acquisition.
