Airbyte launched an agentic data platform centred on Context Store so agents can discover relevant records before live API calls, CEO Michel Tricot wrote in a company blog dated 4 May 2026.
The launch exposes four interfaces — Agent MCP, Agent SDK, Agent CLI and Automations in research preview — with about 50 production-ready connectors including Salesforce, HubSpot, Zendesk, Linear and Slack, and growing write actions so agents can update records, create tickets and post messages. Early testing claims in the post said agents using Context Store consume about 40% fewer tool calls and up to 80% fewer tokens, with company benchmark examples versus vendor MCPs of up to 80% for Gong, 90% for Zendesk, 75% for Linear and 16% for Salesforce. Airbyte said its Data Replication Engine for ELT remains fully supported, framing the agentic platform as an evolution on the same foundation.
Nate Chambers, chief product officer at ORCA Analytics, said: "Airbyte has massively accelerated our roadmap. What we thought would take 6+ months, we were testing in the first week of the beta program." Token-savings and latency claims are company-stated; AI-360 has not independently verified the benchmarks. This piece covers the May 2026 platform launch, not Airbyte's earlier Agent Connectors announcement.
