KYCnow is set to sit alongside STRATECO under a SCHUFA Compliance Suite after parent SCHUFA Holding AG said it is acquiring STRATECO GmbH, according to a 23 June 2026 SCHUFA announcement summarised by BIIA. Purchase price was not disclosed. SCHUFA framed anti-money laundering as a second strategic pillar beside credit assessment.
ClariLab, the SCHUFA subsidiary behind KYCnow since 2020, will be combined with Bad Homburg-based STRATECO — about 160 staff and roughly 25 years in corporate and investment-banking compliance — as a wholly owned sister company. The suite is positioned across data, technology and operational services amid EU AMLR and AMLA-driven demand.
Chief executive Tanja Birkholz said more than €100 billion is illegally funnelled into the German financial system each year and that SCHUFA’s AML efforts and STRATECO’s “complement each other perfectly.” Laurence Dickler of STRATECO said SCHUFA brings database quality and brand trust, and that combining efforts creates potential to lead the market. Tobias Weber, chief executive of KYCnow in the release, pointed to lasting market change from the European Anti-Money Laundering Regulation.
SCHUFA said the Compliance Suite will span data, technology and operational services as German and EU AML obligations tighten.
