Qdrant announced a US$50 million Series B led by AVP to scale its open-source Rust vector search engine and managed cloud for composable retrieval in production AI systems, the company said on 12 March 2026.
Vector databases are raising growth rounds as RAG and agent workloads move into production. Buyers still need latency, filter quality and licence clarity between open-source and managed clouds.
Qdrant sells an open-source engine plus Qdrant Cloud. Bosch Ventures, Unusual Ventures, Spark Capital and 42CAP participated. The post cited more than 250 million downloads and named users including Canva, HubSpot, Roche, Bosch and OpenTable.
Infrastructure buyers should demand reproducible ANN and hybrid-search benchmarks on their embeddings — before treating any Series B headline as a completed retrieval strategy.
