Paxton AI announced a US$22 million Series A led by Unusual Ventures, bringing total funding to US$28 million to expand legal research, drafting and analysis, the company said on 29 January 2025.

Legal assistants are raising Series A capital as firms buy research and drafting copilots with citation controls. Buyers still need hallucination rates, citator quality and privilege boundaries on their matters.

Paxton AI sells an all-in-one legal assistant. Kyber Knight, 25Madison and Wisconsin Valley Ventures participated; the platform highlights a Confidence Indicator and AI Citator.

Firm technology leaders should insist on citation-accuracy pilots — before treating any Series A headline as a completed legal AI rollout.
