LangChain raised US$125 million at a US$1.25 billion valuation to build the platform for agent engineering, the company said on 20 October 2025.
Agent frameworks are raising large rounds as enterprises move from notebooks to evaluated production agents. Buyers still need proof that open-source and commercial surfaces stay aligned on APIs and governance.
LangChain sells LangSmith alongside open-source LangChain and LangGraph. IVP led the round, with Sequoia, Benchmark, Amplify, CapitalG and Sapphire Ventures among participants; the post also named LangChain/LangGraph 1.0 and Agent Builder private preview.
Platform engineering leads should demand eval and observability coverage on their critical agents — before treating any Series B headline as a completed agent platform decision.
