Hex announced a US$70 million Series C from Avra, a16z, Amplify, Box Group, Next Legacy, Redpoint, Sequoia and Snowflake to build its AI analytics platform, the company said on 28 May 2025.

Analytics notebooks are evolving into agentic platforms that combine SQL, Python and conversational self-serve. Buyers still need semantic-model governance, warehouse cost controls and proof of access boundaries.

Hex is Hex Technologies (hex.tech), distinct from Hexaware already listed separately in the directory. CEO Barry McCardel framed the raise around agentic analytics, data apps and conversational self-serve; the company cited more than 1,500 teams worldwide.

Analytics leaders should demand reproducible query and permission pilots — before treating any Series C as a completed AI analytics strategy.
