MLOps Foundation models Financial services Agentic AI AI infrastructure

About

Google Cloud is Alphabet’s public cloud division, providing infrastructure, data and AI services used by enterprises including banks, insurers and capital-markets firms. For AI 360 this pack scopes to Cloud AI — principally Vertex AI and Gemini Enterprise — and the financial-services industry surface, not whole-of-Google consumer products. Vertex AI is Google’s managed platform for building, tuning, deploying and governing models and agents with access to first-party and third-party foundation models, MLOps, and enterprise controls such as VPC and customer-managed encryption. In August 2026 Google Cloud launched Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services in preview for capital markets and corporate banking, combining a managed Financial Research agent, more than fifty domain skills, secure Model Context Protocol connectors to licensed market-data and research sources, partner agents, and a governed control plane. Google Cloud names design partners and early users including Deutsche Bank, CME Group, and institutions such as BNY, Citi Wealth, Lloyds Banking Group and Macquarie Bank for related Gemini Enterprise adoption — attribute those names to Google Cloud’s August 2026 announcements. Buyers are FS technology, data and risk leaders evaluating hyperscaler AI platforms with industry connectors and auditability.

How they use AI

On Vertex AI, customers train, fine-tune and serve models, build retrieval-augmented applications, and orchestrate agents with Google’s Gemini models and selected third-party models under enterprise governance. Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services packages agentic workflows for research-heavy FS work: the Financial Research agent runs end-to-end research with confidence scores, methodologies, data snapshots and source citations; skills encode institution-specific report formats and research methods; MCP connectors bind agents to licensed sources (Google names FactSet, LSEG, Moody’s, MSCI, PitchBook, S&P Global, SEC EDGAR and others) inside the customer’s environment so entitlements stay enforced. Partner agents extend into KYC, document extraction and loan-pack completeness. Underneath, Google Cloud emphasises private data isolation, policy enforcement and verifiable grounding for regulated outputs. Practical FS use cases documented by Google and partners include credit research, portfolio monitoring, market-news synthesis, peer-group benchmarking, fraud and compliance analytics, and advisor insight generation — always as platform capabilities customers configure, not a single vertical SaaS claim.
