DocuSign announced Intelligent Agreement Management (IAM) as a new SaaS category, the company said on 11 April 2024. Platform services include Navigator, Maestro and App Center with AI-assisted agreement workflows beyond eSignature alone.
Agreement software is moving from signature capture to extraction, routing and obligation tracking. Legal and procurement buyers still need clause-level accuracy and audit trails on their own templates.
DocuSign already sits in many enterprises as the eSignature default. IAM is the firm’s bid to keep post-signature work — and AI assistance — inside the same Agreement Cloud rather than losing the process to a general copilot.
Legal operations should press for measurable lift on their clause libraries — and for clear data residency controls — before treating IAM as a completed migration from eSignature plus spreadsheets.
