Cloudflare announced an agreement to acquire Replicate so developers can run its production model catalog through Cloudflare Workers AI, Cloudflare said on 17 November 2025. The deal later closed on 1 December 2025 per Cloudflare disclosures.
Edge and developer platforms are buying model-serving catalogs to shorten the path from open weights to production APIs. Buyers still need pricing, region options and clarity on which models stay on Replicate versus Workers AI.
Replicate remains the directory brand face; Cloudflare is the parent after close and is not added as a separate directory row this wave. The release cited more than 50,000 production-ready models and named Ben Firshman as Replicate co-founder and CEO.
Platform teams should demand reproducible deploy and latency tests on their models — before treating any acquisition as a completed AI cloud strategy.
