Cardamon joined Y Combinator’s Winter 2025 batch on 28 February 2025 with an AI platform that maps regulation to obligations and product requirements for financial firms. The company said the same day that YC backing will help it scale the product; a Y Combinator Launch post sets out the same pitch.

Cardamon said regulated financial firms spend hundreds of hours per person each year reading thousands of pages of regulation, then turning that material into product requirements, controls and policies. Founders Areg Nzsdejan and Dmytro Astakhov said they saw that delay first-hand during four years in product roles at Revolut, where products ready to launch were held in compliance review for weeks. They present Cardamon as a way to move from regulation to obligations to product requirements in minutes rather than months.

On its YC Launch post, Cardamon described a workflow in which compliance officers select a regulation to map. The platform then evaluates what is applicable, what is an obligation, what the impact is, and which risk types apply. Officers can generate controls for obligations, query the underlying regulations, and edit, save or download the mapping as a CSV. Cardamon said compliance officers remain in control of the output. It also said teams using the platform cut as much as 95% of manual regulatory compliance tasks.

The announcement did not disclose the size of the YC cheque, other investors in a concurrent round, or named production customers.
