Brightflag has connected its system of record for legal matters, vendors and spend to Claude, ChatGPT and other AI workspaces through the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the company said on 21 July 2026.
The company said questions that once required pulling a report or navigating dashboards can now be asked directly in the AI workspace a legal team already uses.
Examples it gave include asking which outside counsel firms are billing above agreed rates across active matters, surfacing performance trends before outside counsel reviews, and breaking down legal spend by business unit for a board meeting.
Brightflag said it is one of the first systems of record in legal to build on MCP. It cited the 2026 FTI Consulting and Relativity General Counsel Report, which found that 87% of general counsel now report using AI within their teams.
