Behavox has acquired Zurich-based Apiax, the company said on 8 October 2026, extending its AI controls platform into cross-border and content compliance. The transaction has closed. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Apiax builds embedded compliance software that converts financial regulation into machine-readable rules applied inside firms’ own systems. Behavox said the deal complements Pathfinder, its regulatory change management product. In the company’s account, Pathfinder identifies regulatory change, Apiax turns regulation into rules at the point of business, and Behavox surveillance and archive products monitor and evidence the resulting decisions on one trail.

Apiax was founded in 2017 and is headquartered in Zurich. Behavox said Apiax’s Embedded Compliance offering covers cross-border rules, content compliance, suitability and tax compliance, and policy compliance across more than 200 jurisdictions. Apiax co-founder and chief executive Philip Schoch said joining Behavox gives the technology the platform, engineering resources and distribution to reach more institutions. Behavox co-founder and chief operating officer Kiryl Trembovolski said Apiax adds the interpretation layer that turns regulation into action at the point of business. Chief revenue officer Nabeel Ebrahim cast the deal as progress toward a single compliance platform for customers who want fewer vendors.

Behavox placed the acquisition in a wider European expansion story. It said it opened a Milan office in August 2026, reported 213% growth in European annual recurring revenue over the past two years, and in June 2026 received a $175 million preferred equity investment from HPS Investment Partners, part of BlackRock. Apiax, it said, adds engineering and regulatory expertise in Switzerland, Germany, Portugal and the UK. The company also said Apiax customers continue to receive the product and support they use today, backed by Behavox’s scale and customer-success organisation.

The release did not name customer references for the combined stack or publish a migration timetable.
