Brightflag has launched a new generation of Ask Brightflag, combining large language models with the matter, vendor and spend data in its legal spend system, starting with invoice review, the company said on 28 May 2026.
Users can open a query window inside an invoice and ask questions against live data, such as asking for a summary of the invoice, the biggest driver of spend, how it compares with other invoices on the same matter, or whether there are billing guideline violations.
Answers appear in context without leaving the page, and Ask Brightflag can then draft a message to outside counsel based on what it found, which the user can refine and send.
Brightflag first launched Ask Brightflag to bring natural-language queries to legal spend management after ChatGPT’s arrival.
