How they use AI

Appian builds AI into process workflows rather than selling it as a standalone tool. Its AI agents work inside orchestrated processes alongside document processing and automation, drawing on the data fabric for context. In claims, the Claim Triage Agent module fetches and analyses loss descriptions, vehicle information and policy coverage, applies the insurer's business rules and team structure, and routes each claim to the right team for review. The Open Underwriting Stack with Synechron applies the same platform to underwriting intake and decisions without replacing core systems.
