Ankar has raised a USD 20 million Series A led by Atomico, the company said on 17 December 2025. Total funding stands at USD 24 million, with Index Ventures, Norrsken VC and daphni participating.

Founders Tamar Gomez and Wiem Gharbi previously built software at Palantir. Capital is earmarked to grow product, engineering and go-to-market teams and to expand in the United States.

A customer voice in the materials said: "Most vendors came with a fixed solution. With Ankar, they began with our needs. They understood patents, spoke our language, and adapted to our needs by configuring their existing technology into a solution that fits our reality.." Ankar pitches collaborative patent workflow software rather than a fixed one-size tool — a claim buyers should validate on their own IP portfolios.

Corporate IP teams evaluating Ankar will want evidence on prior-art coverage, privilege handling and how model suggestions are reviewed by qualified attorneys before filings.

Figures and customer claims in this piece are those stated by the company or acquirer in the cited materials.
