Airbyte announced Agent Connectors so AI agents can securely access operational data through its connector catalog, the company said on 16 December 2025.
Data-integration vendors are extending ELT catalogs into agent-ready interfaces. Platform teams still need auth, least-privilege and audit controls before agents can pull production systems.
Airbyte already sells open-source and cloud pipelines across hundreds of sources. Agent Connectors are a bid to keep agent data access on that same connector layer.
Data platform owners should insist on scoped credentials and query logging — before treating any agent connector launch as a completed agent data architecture.
