[Experian](https://www.experianplc.com/?ref=ai-360.online) has published Forrester Consulting research finding that 54% of 6,247 credit-active consumers in 13 EMEA and Asia Pacific markets are comfortable with AI agents applying for credit on their behalf, [the company said on 16 September 2026](https://www.experianplc.com/newsroom/press-releases/2026/consumers-comfortable-ai-agents-applying-for-credit?ref=ai-360.online).

In the study, AI in Risk: The Rise of Agentic Commerce, 85% of respondents said AI agents could help them compare more options than they could manually, 84% that AI could save them money and 83% that it could help them avoid missing details such as hidden fees. For credit applications, 23% would let an agent act when pre-agreed rules are met and 5% would give it full autonomy.

Three-quarters said they would feel more comfortable using AI connected to a financial institution they already trust.

“Our research shows that 82% of the surveyed respondents already trust LLMs to compare loans across providers,” said Mariana Pinheiro, CEO of [Experian](https://www.ai-360.online/experian/) EMEA & Asia Pacific.

Experian said lenders will need systems for secure interactions between consumer-side AI agents and lender platforms.
