StateCover Mutual, a specialist New South Wales local-government workers compensation, safety and wellbeing provider, deployed a custom [Affinda](https://www.affinda.com/?ref=ai-360.online) AI document-processing platform, according to an Affinda customer story.

The mutual cited 133 member partnerships keeping more than 39,000 people safe and working, and more than 300,000 documents a year across more than 80 types including claim forms, clinical records, medical certificates and return-to-work plans. Three models cover document classification to the correct location, claim-number extraction including handwriting, and invoice extraction for critical fields even when documents are misclassified. Measured results claimed a 30–60% increase in processing efficiency, more than a twofold increase in documents sent directly to the right approver, and reduced cost and time via automated workflows after replacing a rules-based system that needed heavy human oversight for misclassification and rework.
