# nib Group runs generative AI on Amazon Bedrock for insurance CX and claims

[Amazon Web Services](https://aws.amazon.com/?ref=ai-360.online) said nib Group selected AWS as preferred cloud provider for generative AI workloads, with the majority of GenAI workloads using Anthropic Claude 3.5 Sonnet via Amazon Bedrock, [in a Sydney release dated 18 March 2025](https://press.aboutamazon.com/aws/2025/3/nib-group-uses-amazon-bedrock-to-drive-productivity-and-personalised-health-insurance?ref=ai-360.online).

nibby, the AI voice and text assistant running since 2021, was said to have handled over four million member queries, lowered chat-based support 60% and voice 15%, and delivered more than A$22 million in savings. Bedrock enhancements named include better multi-turn query handling; auto-generating and summarising notes from chats and calls, cutting post-call work up to 20%; and knowledge-article summarisation cutting average call times 8%. On claims, Amazon Bedrock combined with Amazon Textract is used to automate member claims and process over four million invoices annually. Travel insurance personalisation uses Bedrock-driven email campaigns based on predicted destinations, built with the Amazon Prototyping team. More than 95% of workloads were said to have migrated to AWS, including digital assets, EIR applications and core insurance platforms.

Brendan Mills, group chief information officer at nib, said: "We're seeing Amazon Bedrock deliver substantial benefits across the business." Savings and containment metrics are company statements; AI-360 has not independently verified them.
