Mila and medical technology company SonoNurse VS announced a strategic partnership Tuesday to develop AI-powered solutions for preventing medication errors in healthcare settings.

The collaboration combines SonoNurse's medical device expertise, with Mila's deep learning capabilities, to create an artificial intelligence system that verifies medications, before administration to patients.

Dr. Yahia Zine, founder and CEO of SonoNurse, established the Montreal-based company in 2022 to bridge critical gaps between specialised and primary care medicine. SonoNurse's development team includes mechanical and software engineers working alongside healthcare professionals to create more suitable tools for medical practitioners.

The collaboration represents a growing trend of combining artificial intelligence with medical expertise to address critical healthcare challenges, particularly in patient safety and primary care accessibility.
