[Microsoft](https://azure.microsoft.com/?ref=ai-360.online) has updated its Virtual Datacenter Tour, a 3D self-guided microsite exploring the infrastructure behind its 60-plus datacenter regions, with an AI assistant, [Microsoft said in a blog post on 7 May 2025](https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/microsofts-virtual-datacenter-tour-opens-a-door-to-the-cloud/?ref=ai-360.online).

The virtual assistant is powered by Azure OpenAI Service. It offers real-time support during the tour, answering datacenter-specific questions on sustainability, cooling, security, resiliency and global reach.

The server room covers hardware including Azure Cobalt, [Microsoft](https://www.ai-360.online/microsoft/)'s in-house CPU, and Azure Maia, its custom AI accelerator. A new hot aisle experience shows how heat from servers is isolated, ejected and reused.

An innovation room covers Microsoft's zero-water cooling datacenter design and the Majorana 1 quantum chip. Visitors can take the tour on a PC or mobile device.
