[Google](https://cloud.google.com/?ref=ai-360.online) has announced a €5.5 billion investment in infrastructure and offices in Germany from 2026 to 2029, including a new data centre in Dietzenbach, [Google said on 11 November 2025](https://www.googlecloudpresscorner.com/2025-11-11-Google-Announces-EUR5-5-Billion-Investment-in-Germany,-including-AI-Infrastructure,-through-2029?ref=ai-360.online).

Google will also keep investing in its Hanau data centre campus, which opened in 2023, and expand its offices in Berlin, Frankfurt and Munich.

The new facility will strengthen [Google Cloud](https://www.ai-360.online/google-cloud/)'s regions in Germany, which offer AI services including Vertex AI with Gemini models. Google said it will continue to deliver sovereign cloud solutions so organisations can adopt cloud and AI while meeting local requirements.

Google is extending its 24/7 carbon-free energy partnership with Engie in Germany to 2030 and detailed its first heat recovery project in the country. Its German operations are projected to run at or near 85% carbon-free energy in 2026.

The investment is expected to add an average of €1.016 billion a year to local GDP and support about 9,000 jobs annually through 2029.
