[Google](https://developers.home.google.com/?ref=ai-360.online) has opened early access to a Model Context Protocol server for Google Home, letting MCP-compatible AI agents work with home devices and event history, [the company said on 16 September 2026](https://support.google.com/googlehome/thread/467705013/introducing-home-mcp-enabling-your-agent-to-interact-with-your-home?hl=en&ref=ai-360.online).

Google's developer documentation says the Home MCP server lets an authorised AI client discover homes and devices, check real-time device states, run supported device commands and query historical events. Agents named by Google include Google Antigravity, Claude, Hermes and OpenClaw.

Early access is rolling out in English to Google Home Premium Advanced users in the US. Setup requires a [Google Cloud](https://www.ai-360.online/google-cloud/) project, Home API access and OAuth credentials.

Google said Home MCP enforces rate limits and safety protections, such as prohibiting sensitive actions like unlocking doors, but warned that “connecting it to Home MCP can result in unexpected or even undesired behavior.” Access can be revoked from the Google Home app.
