# Ada raises US$130m Series C at US$1.2bn valuation

According to the PRWeb release, the round was led by Spark Capital with participation from Tiger Global, and existing investors Accel, Bessemer, FirstMark, Version One and Burst also took part.

Ada said the financing brought total funding to about US$200 million. The Toronto company said it would use the capital to grow headcount for global go-to-market expansion and continued research and development.

In the announcement, Ada said that in 2020 alone it automated more than 1.5 billion customer interactions for hundreds of brands, naming customers including Zoom, Facebook and Square.

CEO and co-founder Mike Murchison said the company would use the round to accelerate automation across the customer journey and more than double team size to more than 500 people.

Figures for interactions, valuation and hiring plans are those stated by Ada in the 2021 release.
